Amid the widespread cancellations and delays of IndiGo flights, airfares on other airlines have skyrocketed, in some cases touching prices comparable to Delhi–London tickets. The sudden spike in one-way economy fares has raised serious concerns among commuters.
– According to Google travel flight data, Delhi–Mumbai one-way economy fares for Saturday (Dec 6) on other airlines range between Rs 36,000 and Rs 48,972.
– Delhi–Bengaluru one-way economy fare for Saturday (Dec 6) on other airlines is around Rs 39,101.

– Delhi–Kolkata one-way economy fares for Saturday (Dec 6) on other airlines range between Rs 49,789 and Rs 67,690.
– Delhi–Chennai one-way economy fare for Friday (Dec 5) on other airlines is around Rs 84,997.
– Delhi–Hyderabad one-way economy fare for Sunday (Dec 7) on other airlines is around Rs 34,674.
In a post on X, Delhi Airport said, “IndiGo domestic flights departing from Delhi Airport on 5th December 2025 are CANCELLED till midnight today (till 23:59 hours).”
The Ministry of Civil Aviation has directed airlines, especially IndiGo, to implement measures immediately to resolve the severe disruption to flight schedules and stabilise services without delay, an official statement said.
Two orders have been issued to address problems faced by the public and restore service stability, especially on IndiGo.
The order said, “It is expected: All flight schedules would stabilise and begin returning to normal midnight tonight; Full services and stability should return over the next couple of days; Passengers can track delays, if any, from home through information system installed by IndiGo and others; In the event of flight cancellation IndiGo will ensure automatic full refund for tickets.”
