Katy Perry’s ex-husband Russell Brand mocks her new boyfriend Justin Trudeau

Katy Perry’s ex-husband Russell Brand took aim at her new boyfriend Justin Trudeau.

Brand attended a recent politically conservative Turning Point USA event, where he called the former prime minister of Canada a “globalist stooge.”

For those unaware, Perry and the 50-year-old English comedian, actor, podcaster, and media personality were married from 2010 to 2012.

In 2016, the California Gurl hitmaker started dating Orlando Bloom after meeting him at the Golden Globes afterparty. They announced their engagement in 2019, welcomed their child, a daughter named Daisy Dove Bloom, together in 2020, and parted ways in June 2025.

Perry and Trudeau were romantically linked shortly after her breakup from Bloom, as they were spotted together at different places; however, they confirmed their relationship by going Instagram official in December 2025.

Alluding to her mother, Mary Perry, Brand quipped, “Look, Katy Perry, I was married to her. I love her still, and I’m glad that her mom’s in the room to hear me say this.”

“But look. I was okay with Orlando Bloom, but Justin Trudeau? C’mon, man! Don’t put me in a category with that guy! That globalist stooge,” he noted, adding, “All right, praise Jesus.”
