‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ adds music icon to growing fanbase

As The Summer I Turned Pretty is coming to an end with its third and final season, the Prime Video drama has added a legendary musician to its ever-growing fanbase.

Interestingly, the popular series isn’t just captivating young adult viewers, but 76-year-old music icon Billy Joel has also revealed he’s a fan of the romantic saga.

After The Piano Man hitmaker was name-dropped in the fifth episode of season three, he shared a snippet on his official Instagram grid, proudly highlighting his honorary mention with his followers.

In the latest episode, Belly Conklin, played by Lola Tung, goes to a high-end bakery in search of a wedding cake.

When she set her eyes on a cake, the shop owner told her that “Billy Joel picked that cake for his 70th. We have a really exclusive client base.”

In the caption of the clip, the five-time Grammy winner asked the question on every The Summer I Turned Pretty fan’s mind, “Are you Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah?”

The comment section was filled with fans of the music star singer guessing which team he is on with his daughter Alexa Ray Joel writing, “Team Conrad always! [red heart emoji] Cuz loving him was red… [music emoji].”

Meanwhile, others found it humorous that the Captain Jack singer was tuning in to the coming-of-age dramedy.

The Summer I Turned Pretty is a popular young adult series, based on the trilogy of books by Jenny Han. The third and final season premiered in July 2025.
