When it comes to merging Hollywood glamour with a touch of Indian elegance, few do it as effortlessly as Priyanka Chopra Jonas. The global icon recently attended a gala hosted by Pratham USA in New York, turning the evening into a masterclass in contemporary couture. Dressed in a cobalt blue Elie Saab creation that reimagined the saree for the red carpet, Priyanka embodied poise, power, and a whisper of nostalgia.

The Elie Saab gown was a breathtaking blend of structure and softness. In striking cobalt blue with nude accents, it featured a strapless bodice with a low square neckline that framed Priyanka Chopra’s shoulders beautifully. The gown’s fitted corset-like waist flowed seamlessly into a mermaid-style skirt, while a pleated tulle overlay created a graceful, saree-inspired drape across the front, which paid a clever nod to her Indian roots.

Every inch of the fabric was adorned with delicate silver threadwork, shimmering sequins, and intricate floral embroidery. The subtle interplay between transparency and embellishment added dimension, giving the illusion of movement even when still. The gown’s sweeping hemline and sheer tulle layers gave it a celestial finish, perfectly suited to the elegance of an evening gala.

Styled by Ami Patel, Priyanka kept the look refined yet radiant. She accessorised with exquisite Bvlgari jewels – a statement sapphire ring, a diamond band, sculptural drop earrings, and a sleek gold bracelet watch. Together, they added just enough sparkle to complement the gown’s opulence without overpowering it.

Her hair, parted at the centre and tied into a polished bun, let her neckline and jewels take centre stage. For makeup, she opted for a soft glam look with feathered brows, muted smoky eyes, and a hint of rosy blush paired with a glossy mauve lip. The result: timeless sophistication with a contemporary edge.

Priyanka’s appearance at the Pratham USA gala followed her visit to India, where she celebrated Durga Puja and attended Bvlgari’s exhibition at NMACC. From Mumbai to Manhattan, her sartorial choices continue to strike a balance between global chic and desi sentiment.
