‘Pushpa’ star Rashmika Mandanna takes break from acting after sustaining injury

Rashmika Mandanna, star of the blockbuster ‘Pushpa’, sustained injuries during a fitness session at a gym, temporarily halting the shooting schedules for three major films.

The 28-year-old actress, who recently gained acclaim for her roles in ‘Pushpa’ and ‘Animal’, was training when the mishap occurred, according to Indian media reports.

Mandanna’s upcoming projects include ‘Sikandar’ with Salman Khan and ‘Chhava’ alongside Vicky Kaushal. Both productions, along with another undisclosed project, have been delayed as a result of her injury.

People close to Mandanna were reported to have said that she is recuperating and feeling better.  They added that doctors have advised her to take a short break to ensure a full recovery before resuming her demanding work commitments.

Pushpa 2 to release reloaded version with 20 extra minutes of footage

The makers of Pushpa 2: The Rule have announced the release of a reloaded version, which will include an additional 20 minutes of footage. The extended version will be available in cinemas from January 11, 2025.

Pushpa 2, starring Allu Arjun in the lead role, has already made a significant impact at the box office, surpassing Baahubali 2 to become the highest-grossing Indian film.

The addition of 20 minutes of new content aims to build on the film’s ongoing success and provide fans with more of the action-packed storyline.

In a social media post on January 7, Mythri Movie Makers, the production house behind the film, confirmed the update.

The announcement was accompanied by a new poster featuring Allu Arjun’s character, Pushparaj. The caption read, “Pushpa2TheRule RELOADED VERSION with 20 minutes of added footage will play in cinemas from January 11. The WILDFIRE gets extra FIERY.”

Pushpa 2 continues the story of Pushparaj, a small-time sandalwood smuggler who rises to become one of the most feared gangsters.

Alongside Allu Arjun, the film stars Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, and others in key roles. Fahadh Faasil plays the antagonist, SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, who seeks revenge against Pushparaj.

While Pushpa 2 has already made its mark, the film’s producers have hinted at the possibility of a third instalment, Pushpa 3: The Rampage, set to continue the saga.

The reloaded version will be shown exclusively in theatres for a limited time, with no plans for an OTT release before a 56-day window.

Earlier, a song from the film was deleted from YouTube. The videos satirical take on the police resulted in its deletion from YouTube.

According to Indian media, the song “Dammante Patukora” was removed in connection with the Bhagdhar cinema case.

Although not part of the official soundtrack, the track gained immense popularity among fans following the movie’s release.

T-Series uploaded the song on December 24, but it was taken down within hours due to the ongoing controversy.

Previously, Allu Arjun was released from jail after his arrest in connection with a tragic stampede incident at the Pushpa 2 film premiere in Hyderabad.

The actor was apprehended on December 4, following a stampede at the event that led to the death of a 39-year-old woman and injured her son.

After his release from the Hyderabad prison on Saturday, Allu Arjun expressed his regret over the incident, offering his condolences to the affected family.
