Mumbai transforms this weekend (January 17-19) into a cultural playground! Gaijin in Khar
Gaijin’s vinyl-led listening experience, Off The Record, returns on January 18, with a day-long edition titled New Year, Same Us – an unhurried analogue ritual celebrating music as presence, not background. Conceived by Chefs Anand Morwani, Rohan Mangalorkar, and Karan Gaba, this immersive session transforms Gaijin into a shared listening space.
Powered by the rare Donley sound system, the day unfolds naturally:
12 PM: Duane eases in with lunch grooves
3 PM: Blurry Slurr brings fluid genre-blending energy
6 PM: Julian Anthony delivers strict vinyl deep listening
9 PM: Milkman closes with grounded finale

The Gathering in Colaba
The Gathering returns for its second edition, a three-day festival from January 16–18, at Mumbai’s historic Mukesh Mills. It is transforming the abandoned mill into a “temporary city of creativity.” This immersive celebration of taste, thought, and art brings together India’s top chefs, artists, and visionaries to redefine modern Indian culture through flavour, form, and feeling.
After its acclaimed Delhi debut, Mumbai’s Edition 02 features five exclusive chef-artist pop-up restaurants:

Literature Fest in Malad
VIBGYOR High is hosting its first Literature Festival on Saturday, 17 January. It will see the presence of author Dr Devdutt Pattanaik as the Guest of Honour. This literature festival brings students, parents, and educators together through author sessions, book reviews, creative workshops, and storytelling zones. The other speakers include Dr Mickey Mehta, Savitha Rao, Sanaya Irani, and Rahul Saini, offering diverse perspectives on creativity and learning.
Activities feature comic creation studios, book cover design workshops, writing zones, book exchanges, and curated shows. Myra Multimedia leads visual storytelling workshops, while Amar Chitra Katha hosts creative writing and comic-making sessions featuring Tinkle characters like Suppandi and Shambu.

Art Exhibition in Malad
The Art Aura Exhibition is taking place at Infiniti Mall from January 16 to 18 and was inaugurated by Dr Kishor Ingale, Director of Art, Maharashtra State. Over 40 emerging artists have been showcasing their paintings, drawings, block printing, paper quilling, 3D art, sculptures, and handicrafts at the mall. The exhibition offers immersive engagement with diverse creative practices, supporting new talent amid retail vibrancy. It also has a few workshops and activities, such as Tote bag painting (Jan 17; 4–6 PM) and Block print on pouch (Jan 18; 4–6 PM).
